The GIF image (Left-click it to see animation) shown above shows the annual seasonal changes driven by the annual cycle of ice and vegetation. This specific GIF was created by John Nelson who had the innovative idea of animating 12 images taken from NASA’s Data, in which each images represents a month of the year.
Nelson didn’t choose the images randomly. He decided to go for the clear and cloud-free ones which allowed the animation to reveal a stunning pulsation of green and white colors. And just like that, we are left with a giant living organism, breathing in and out.
We as human beings, we tend to understand Earth as a place where different organism and species comes to live. However, Nelson managed to prove us through his animation that our planet is more than just a place to live on. This GIF personifies our home as we admire Earth as one living entity of its own.
