New climate satellite ready for launch

Data from satellites like Meteosat can be used for climate monitoring stretching back a few decades. But newer satellites are being designed to answer specific questions about climate.

Once such satellite is the NASA OCO-2 satellite. It will measure carbon dioxide on Earth, examining where carbon dioxide is emitted and absorbed on the planet.
